2013 (3) January (1) February (1) January (1) 2012 (23) December (4) November (2) S

In the cool of the morning and under a blue sky, I went to Malèves to discover a small museum dedicated to the time of release (1944). I discovered its existence via the newspaper Le Soir, during the month of July. Such was not my surprise, reading the article, to discover that the owner of the museum was a friend of Georges "Poupa" Jaspis (Belgian pilot in the RAF, who died in 2007).
Because the owner is still a student, the visit can only be done by appointment - you. Heylen Benjamin, 21, is fascinated by World War II. From the age of 10, he began to scour the flea markets and military scholarships (uniforms, weapons, shoe station tools, posters, etc ...). There are two years with his brother and father, they arranged the barn adjacent to their house into a museum. The result is outstanding! Everything is done with care and very conscientious. shoe station
Since I never went to Malèves, I decided to go there on foot (no, I'm not crazy). A big ten miles without stopping or almost and here I am. I had an appointment - you 11 hours, but I was 16 minutes late (he did not want me). I do not expect to see a collection also provided. I was pleasantly surprised!
Always armed with a camera of my brother, I am pleased. Talking about Jaspis Georges Benjamin told me he was going to see him twice a month, since he lived in Perwez (next door). It was premeditated on my part, but I wanted to make a portrait of Georges Jaspis (when was the pilot) shoe station for the museum. Since I only have two small photos Jaspis Georges Benjamin agreed to send me pictures of his collection.

Mehdi Métis Belgian - South Africa, I saw the day Etterbeek (Brussels). Passionate about drawing and self from the age of 4 years, I decided at age 13 to make my passion, my job (thanks to the support of family and teachers). A year later, I'm going to continue my secondary education at the IATA (Namur), in "Applied Arts" option shoe station (1993 - 1998). In September 1998, I entered Saint-Luc (Liège), in the "Illustration" section (1998-2002). Since then I have exhibited my work twice (Louvain-la-Neuve 2002 and Liège 2006). For now, I have a comic book project "stand by" and I produced illustrations for books or other. shoe station View my complete profile
