The unruly Russia
In the Kremlin's the armory, the museum that houses the greatest treasures of Russia's rich history, the one thing that stands out. It is Monomakh cap, the symbol of the Russian autocratic board, the Russian rulers first crown until Peter the Great replaced it in 1721 with a crown of more western type.
Monomakh cap is physically heavy, decorated as it is with filigree gold wires are bent and braided in intricate patterns, and precious stones, surrounded by sobelpels. But it is also psychologically heavy to carry, "Tung Monomakh's hat", according to a Russian proverb. The meaning is: He who rules Russia, taking on a tremendous responsibility and a heavy burden.
It does not scare 59 years old Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Tomorrow he will be elected President of Russia karmaloop for the third time, after a brief escapade as prime minister in four years, as the Russian electoral law prohibits a president to sit more than two periods in a row.
But Putin's third term, now six years, are not so simple. He and Russia karmaloop enters an uncertain time. He has promised the country continued stability, but there are indications that Russia again moves into the "smut" - confusion of time. The word cause it to go cold down the back of most Russians, it was originally used for a period of 15 years from the end of 1500 - and early 1600's. The revolutions of 1917 and the period that followed the unrest and civil war, a new confusion of time. Fearless
Vladimir Putin appears to be fearless. He emphasizes himself as a macho man, leading the Formula 1 car, pilot fighters, diver who finds ancient Greek vases, as a hunter on horseback, as the protector of the Siberian tiger. He is the master of the Russian martial art sambo, and he puts on hockey equipment to allow important games in the Russian league. This has long been the home of the Russian population.
But most of all it's 141 which has been home to the Russian population. Real wages in Russia rose by a staggering 141 percent from 2002 to 2009. That very much of this was due to high oil prices on the world market, not people cared very much about.
The number 141, or what is the consequence of this has contributed to Putin's popularity, and that tomorrow he will be elected president. Many Russians trust that he is the right man to continue the stability the country has experienced since the millennium. Although the financial crisis of 2008 Russia managed to recover relatively unscathed through.
There is no doubt that Putin, both as President from 2000 to 2008 and as prime minister for the past four years soaking up the oil sheen. He has received much of the credit for that many Russians have been better karmaloop financially, although differences in Russian society from the super rich and down to the pensioner on an as my country is screaming big. Putin or chaos
Economic recovery, greater faith in tomorrow and thus the fear of an unstable situation, the main reason why Putin at the polls - even if they are not completely karmaloop reliable - is emerging as the clear number one. The state-controlled television stations have hammered home the message: Putin or chaos. Another reason is that the other presidential candidates, perhaps with the small exception of the Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov, no real challenge to Putin.
Zyuganov still represents only a relatively constant proportion of the population, about 20 percent, nostalgic look back to what they consider the Soviet paradise, or still have faith in the communist because ideas.
The real opposition
