My name is Lorena Martinez-Neustadt. spirithalloween I'm jeweler and live with my husband in Amsterdam. Born and raised I'm in Mexico (where I studied industrial design), and my craft as a jeweler I learned when I lived in Argentina. I make jewelry from her passion and draw because it's fun. For me Gemagenta is like an open book full of short stories which arise directly to my heart and my imagination. I'm spirithalloween not set on a particular style, but inspires me the most diverse things, such as memories, travel, books, legends, objects, nature and geometry.
My creative process begins with a story I want to tell. I love to make my notes to collect things and make all sorts of photos. Plus, it's fun to research symbols and curious details. I want to create more than just a pretty object. Usually I create countless sketches spirithalloween before the final drafts are done. This process is described in my blog.
Most of my plays come directly from metal sheets by using traditional method for making spirithalloween jewelery, and some of my other pieces I will pour wax models. (You can watch the view in this video.) Also, I like to experiment with new ideas, such as in my "Moroccan Sugar" collection that I will pour on the basis of models spirithalloween made from real sugar in silver. This idea appeared to the founders impossible at first, but then they realized that it could work. This is one of my favorite collections, as this much time, effort and errors were necessary.
I create jewelry because jewelry is art, can be worn and especially because he has something magical about it. Jewelry spirithalloween has a strange and irresistible attraction that characterizes the lives of people for thousands spirithalloween of years. It excites me to know some of the secrets of how to turn raw materials into jewelry.
Through my pieces I've become a part of special moments throughout the world. Last I heard from a man in Hong Kong, who made his girlfriend with one of my rings to marry him. Somehow amazing, right?
All my life I've dreamed of traveling the world, and my dream has come true. My husband and I are currently a kind of nomads, but it works. I know that I can pack a bag with my tool and so just take my studio. And thanks to Etsy I have my shop always there, Etsy is an excellent business partner. There I also found a very open and generous creative community. I won good friends and Etsy has next to my shop also enriched spirithalloween my personal life.
If you work as a freelance creative, spirithalloween you constantly spirithalloween learns. The fact that one does in his business all tasks yourself, you have a certain freedom, but it also carries the full responsibility.
